A quick question, and apologies if I'm being blonde  The other evening, the horn was working fine, until whilst sorting out a few things in preparation for the MOT next week, I decided to swap the broken horn ring for an intact one. Now I can't seem to get the horn to work properly, and even with the original one refitted, it's very much a hit & miss affair to get it to work. Is there a knack to this, or anything that I need to be aware of?

Yes, the horn is one of my bugbears too. With mine it's usually a build-up of crud on the contacts, and the other culprits are the ring, or, in certain cases, the relay if you have one. When you say the ring, you mean the foam whatsit that some people make out of mousemats, right? I'm going to get a relay next, because mine never works when I need it, and always works when my elbow glances the steering wheel by mistake. Tom

Paul Not sure which steering wheel you have. On my 69 model I have what I can only describe as a butterfly shaped horn ring which is attached onto the wheel by 4 sprung loaded screws. I have found that these have to be screwed in a fair distance until you get the horn to sound then adjust each one until the ring is flush with the wheel itself. Brian
