turbo conversion

looking to convert my N reg 2.5 GLT estate to turbo power. do i just need the turbo and manifold or do i need other bits... and is it relativaly easy to convert non turbo to turbo? many thanks in advance. mark.

Sell it and buy a T5. It's the cheapest way of doing it. If your car is exceptionally nice then an alternatively would be to buy a write-off T5 saloon and take everything you need off it - the complete engine, ecu, turbo, exhaust, instruments etc...

In the old days it would have been relatively easy. Now even the turbos are ECU controlled , so as already stated you would be best to sell it, as you would practically have to change the whole car and electrics.

i agree with the others im afraid, far too much work involved, plus most importantly will the 2.5 lump be able to handle the new torque...? you could probably get a t5 for similar money or why not consider a 740 turbo?.... cheers jod

If its was Ford it may have been an option lol. There is still strong demand for non T5 Volvo's for yours, so if you decide to sell it and go for a T5 model, just invest in a good spruce up if the car is otherwise OK.
